Day Ten - 09.04.2012
Another early walk, learning the patrols around the village. I’m starting to know where I am going a bit more now and I don’t trip over the big human so much. We were both quite tired so we had a sleep when we got back while the humans went out for a couple of hours. They filmed us again but we were sure to stay out of the way of the camera the whole time so they didn’t see what we got up to while they were gone.
Exciting times when they returned though, we were very happy to see them as they had bags full of new doggy things for Harvey and I. Special indestructible tennis balls (made for cricket whatever that is?!), new chew toys and a special new lead for me that lets me go a long way away but still know that the big human is safe and I can still find him.
Harvey was VERY excited to get a new bone that he kept squishing and the humans kept squishing as well. He was so happy and I was just very confused by it - I couldn’t understand what all the fuss was about. Luckily the humans had thought about me and came with a backup present, a rope with a big tennis ball on the end. I got right to work pulling the tennis ball off and chewing it up into tiny pieces and this made me very happy.
It rained really hard in the afternoon and I didn’t think we would be going out very far. Luckily I was wrong and the humans put lots of clothes on and their welly boots and took Harvey and I to the fields. Harvey ran around without his lead on chasing our super new tennis balls and I tried out my new long lead. We had great fun and got very wet. When we got home they dried me off with a towel (my favourite thing) and I had just enough energy left to eat my dinner.
